Football Hall of Fame, Warsaw, Stadium PGE Narodowy
On Friday, October 13, 2023, the fourth edition of the PGE National Football Walk of Fame 2023 took place on the promenade of the PGE Narodowy stadium. Their plaques were unveiled by Antoni Szymanowski (footballer playing as a defender, Polish representative, gold and silver Olympian in 1972 and 1976, bronze medalist of the 1974 World Cup), Lesław Ćmikiewicz (football player playing as a defender, Polish representative, gold and silver Olympian in 1972 and 1976, bronze medalist of the 1974 World Cup), Jakub Błaszczykowski (midfielder, Polish representative in 2006–2023 football, winner of the Polish championship with Wisła Kraków, two-time winner of the German championship, a
also the German Cup and the German Super Cup and a finalist of the UEFA Champions League in the colors of Borussia Dortmund) and referee Szymon Marciniak (Polish football referee, international referee, UEFA Elite class referee, the best referee of 2022 in the world according to the International Federation of Football Historians and Statisticians). A commemorative plaque for Ernest Wilimowski (football player – left wing, considered the best player in the history of Polish football in the 1930s) was also unveiled.
The artistic part was created by drummers from the ETNO SCENA group from Warsaw.
The event was co-financed by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism. The event’s partners were the Polish Football Association, PGE Narodowy, PGE Fundacja, TVP Sport, Kempa Sport. The originator of the event is Sławomir Jachimowski (Aleja Gwiazd Foundation) and the task is implemented by the Sportnet Foundation – President Adela Grzyb.
